ST. LOUIS -- Kellen Clemens joked he might be getting more than the usual allotment of practice snaps this week. The former backup quarterback got a lot more work Wednesday when the St. Louis Rams practiced for the first time since Sam Bradfords season-ending knee injury. Now its the new backups, Brady Quinn and Austin Davis, wholl be getting limited reps while the Rams (3-4) prepare for their Monday night game against the Seahawks. Two days after getting cut by the Jets, Quinn was signed in time for what the team referred to as a walkthrough. "Obviously, theres a lot of things that are out of your control in life, not only in football, "Quinn said. "Its been a little bit crazy but thats kind of the world we live in, in the NFL." Davis was among the final roster cuts before the opener, and stayed sharp throwing to high school wide receivers as a volunteer coach at Westminster Christian Academy in suburban St. Louis. The first few weeks, he said the kids didnt know who he was. "Throwing the ball around with those guys and getting in their weight room and just staying ready, its a difficult thing to do," Davis said. "But you have to do it." For now they are emergency options behind Clemens, wholl be making his first start since 2011, and theyre side by side in lockers, with offensive linemen on one side and linebackers on the other. "Weve got an extra day to prepare," Clemens said on Monday. "Well be ready to rock and roll Monday night." Quinn was a first-round pick by the Browns in 2007 and has bounced around. He didnt think picking up the system would be a chore, describing it as "like learning a different language, maybe Spanish and Portuguese where some things are similar and some arent." Since getting cut by the Rams, Davis spent one week with the Dolphins. He said he wasnt there long enough to confuse that playbook with the St. Louis system. Davis was the third-stringer for St. Louis last year and did not play, and was on the Dolphins practice squad for one week earlier this fall. Unlike Quinn, who had a workout before getting his deal, Davis said all he had to do was sign the paper work. "Its been a tough six weeks, it feels like its been two years," Davis said. "You just hit the ground running." Bradford, who had started every game since the start of the 2012 season, was placed on injured reserve. He injured his knee in the fourth quarter Sunday in a loss at Carolina and is expected to undergo surgery in a few weeks when swelling subsides. Offensive lineman Brandon Washington was released to clear roster space. Also, linebacker Jonathan Stewart was released from the practice squad. http://www.nonikeskobilligsalg.com/nike-free-3-0-herre.html . Getz was injured in the first inning of Sundays 15-inning win over St. Louis while trying to get to a single by Carlos Beltran. http://www.nonikeskobilligsalg.com/nike-air-max-1.html . The 41-year-old Whitney has played in all 17 games and is third on the team with seven assists. He is third among active players with 1,278 games. http://www.nonikeskobilligsalg.com/ . Wright homered on the first pitch he saw after missing three games, Jonathon Niese and two relievers combined on a six-hitter, and the New York Mets beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-0 on Saturday. http://www.nonikeskobilligsalg.com/nike-roshe-run-herre-dame.html . 3 Western Mustangs hammered the Ottawa Gee-Gees 83-27 in Canadian university football action. Finch completed 18-of-26 passes for 297 yards and also rushed eight times for 63 yards and a TD for Western (4-0). http://www.nonikeskobilligsalg.com/nike-blazer/nike-blazer-herre.html . - Speculation swirls around what San Jose might do before the trade deadline, but the Sharks are creating enough of a stir with their play on the ice. Peyton Manning worked out for Tennessee on Saturday in Knoxville, Titans general manager Ruston Webster said. The GM said he thought Manning "looked comfortable throwing the ball and we had a good visit." "This is another important step in the process," Webster said. Manning spent eight hours meeting with Tennessee executives on Wednesday. Webster was joined at Saturdays workout by Titans head coach Mike Munchak, chief operating officer Mike Reinfeldt, offensive co-ordinator Chris Palmer, quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains and strength coach Steve Watterson, a person familiar with the session told The Associated Press. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the team has not released details of the workout. Saturday was Mannings third workout for teams this week. On Friday, the four-time NFL MVP worked out at Duke for Denver. Tuesday night he worked out at the Blue Devils facilities for San Francisco. Manning has been rehabbing in North Carolina following a string of neck surgeries. And the quarterback is getting good reviews. After throwing for Hall of Fame QB turned Broncos executive John Elway and Denver coach John Fox in a workout that lasted a little under two hours. When it was over, Elway seemed convinced that Manning is still Manning "We enjoyed visiting with Peyton today in N.C.," Elway wrote on his Twitter account. "He threw the ball great and looked very comfortable out there." A few minutes later, Elway posted: "Watching him throw today was the next step in this important process for our team and Peyton. It was a productive visit and went well." Manning, who turns 36 on March 24, missed the 2011 season with the neck injury, which led to him being released by Indianapolis. Duke football coach David Cutcliffe said Manning looks good. Cutcliffe --Manninngs offensive co-ordinator at the University of Tennessee -- said Saturday morning that Manning has been throwing at "game pace.dddddddddddd." After Dukes scrimmage, Cutcliffe said the quickness of Mannings release has impressed him. "He never ceases to amaze me," Cutcliffe said. Manning also continues to amaze NFL types. Titans owner Bud Adams declared earlier this month he wanted the quarterback and felt Manning could be the missing piece to a championship team. Adams has said he thought Manning would make a quick decision, and the quarterback seems to want it over quickly. He worked out Saturday even though it was his anniversary; Manning married his wife, Ashley, on St. Patricks Day in 2001 in Memphis. Whether San Francisco executives and coaches also felt Manning looked good during their workout, they arent saying. But they also have shown interest in the quarterback who led Indianapolis to a Super Bowl victory in 2007. A person familiar with the situation said Manning worked out for 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh on Tuesday night at Duke. ESPN first reported on the session. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because no announcement has been made about the 49ers workout. San Francisco CEO Jed York also may want to make his own pitch along with general manager Trent Baalke, trying to sway Manning to sign with the 49ers. Manning met with the Titans for about eight hours on a plane and at the teams facility, a session that featured a 90-minute visit from team doctor Burton Elrod. Only Adams has talked this week, and he told a Nashville TV station he believes Manning will be making a quick decision. All of the praise for Mannings arm at this stage adds more intrigue for teams chasing the quarterback. Said Cutcliffe: "Hes throwing the ball well, and hell get better." cheap nfl jerseys cheap soccer jerseys ' ' '
